Meteorological
services in the East African region are already using
Alldean’s services for collection and dissemination
of valuable meteorological data.
The
role of communications for a meteorological organization
is to facilitate the flow of data and processed products
to meet the World Meteorological Organization’s
World Weather Watch ( WWW ) programme requirements in
a timely, reliable and cost effective way ensuring that
all World Meteorological Organization ( WMO ) members
have access to data in accordance with approved procedures
and within the limits of agreed WWW systems.
The
VSATs provided by Alldean Satellite Networks support
the following services:

domestic monitoring stations to the head office |

Connecting
the head office to the WMO network in Europe |
The VSATs provided by Alldean support voice, fax and
data services. The data services can be used for basic
information collection and dissemination as well as
for advanced data services such as video transmission
and relay of weather radar data.
